ADVENTURES IN PHOTOGRAPHY – Works by Chicago Photographers from the Ishimoto Yasuhiro Collection

The museum’s own “Ishimoto Yasuhiro Collection” includes next to works by the photographer from Kochi himself, also prints by other photographers that were active around the same time. This exhibition focuses primarily on works by photographers from Chicago, including teachers and students at the Institute of Design (commonly referred to as “New Bauhaus”) where Ishimoto studied photography, and went on to find great inspiration for his own work, as well as by Japanese and international photographers that Ishimoto had befriended during his lifetime.

Photography is an adventure just as life is an adventure.
